Fifth VCF Academy product from Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna to score in Euros or World Cup

Ferran Torres, 23rd VCF Academy Hall of Fame member joins the likes of Mendieta, David Silva, Jordi Alba and Isco with the goal-fest that secures qualification to the Euro 2020 last 16 for Spain.
The Spain national team have progressed to the Last 16 of Euro 2020 with a win against Slovakia. Their 5-0 win did not feature Valencia CF captain José Luis Gayà -who is waiting for his chance to help the team out- but a former Valencianista was amongst the scorers.
Ferran Torres, currently at Manchester City, is the 23rd Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna Hall of Fame member to play for Spain and he scored ‘La Roja's fourth goal, becoming the fifth Paterna graduate of the club's youth system to score in a European Championship or World Cup, along with Gaizka Mendieta, David Silva, Jordi Alba and Isco.
Hugo Guillamón, the l’Eliana born centre-back, was the latest Valencianista to make his senior debut this same month of June against Lithuania, becoming the fourth-youngest Valencianista player to score for Spain and reasserting the potential of the VCF Academy, currently recognised by the IFFHS as the fifth-highest player productive academy across Europe’s five big leagues.
